Are you ever skeptical when someone offers you a shortcut?  You should be….

In my life, shortcuts have never really panned out.   They always seemed great, but the hype was WAY more than the results.  I seemed to always walk away disappointed.

Whether I was taking another route home, or scanning, instead of reading, that novel for an essay…or seeing some great ad that offers you something for $19.99 and continued with WAIT THERE’s MORE!  They just always seemed to come up a little short.

“There’s no such thing as a shortcut!”

Hogwash, shortcuts do exist!  Maybe the shortcuts we’ve taken in the past were bad choices, but the bottom line is people are making fortunes from learning and taking real ”shortcuts” from the best of the best in network marketing.

What do you do when it doesn’t seem to be working?

What should you do when you’ve tried everything they said you should do, and it still doesn’t seem to be working?

What happens when everything you try seems to come up with a zero?  Is it your opportunity, your product, your up-line?  What the heck is going on?

If I had a nickle for every time I wondered what I was doing wrong, I wouldn’t need to be an entrepreneur or work for a living.  I mean you can just imagine how much wealth I would have accumulated over the years.  It would be a pretty penny I tell ya!

Well, in plain talk…you need to sit back…just stop for a moment. 

The first thing you need to do is shake off the negative; it’s not helping you in this business or any other.  You need to let go of the “stinking thinking” and take a fresh look at what you’ve done.  Really look at it. 

Take some of your best stuff, and review it.  Give it a fresh look.  You may have written it when you first started out.  You may know things now that you didn’t know before; and you can give a different perspective on what you wrote about earlier.    You may have learned where to put your links, how to position your expertise, who your target audience is.

Head on over to your favorite learning sites and start reading and gleaning for fresh ideas.  Take a deep breath and let it out nice and slow.  You’re going to be fine.  There’s a lot to learn out there and I’m here to tell you; I haven’t learned even a smidge of it compared to what’s available.

Get involved in a few great forums; the BetterNetworker for one, is a group of wonderful teachers, trainers, students, and wide-eyed hopefuls working together to learn new things.  When you get there, look me up and connect with me.  I’d love to meet you there!

Reread or read for the first time some of the best available training tools out there for learning marketing in today’s economy and Web 2.0 structures.  If you haven’t read the Go-Giver…get it, read it, and learn from it.  If you don’t know where to start contact me and I’ll give you a hand.

How long has it been since you embraced your faith and your walk with the Lord.  Maybe you need to get back to basics…start reading His Word…chat with Christian friends…pray and ask for guidance.  You’re not doing this alone, you know…if you’re a Christian; follow His lead.

Realize that you haven’t done anything wrong, and neither has anyone who is mentoring you, as long as you’ve been working the business, sharing ideas, building content, and making connections.  With truth, honesty, and integrity you will build the relationships of trust that bring the hope to others.

Remember that there are many factors in your success and the success of those around you…riding them out can be difficult, perhaps the only way to get to the other side of the “slump”.

Never give up…all things are possible through Christ who strengthens me…It’s one of my favorite Bible verses; it reminds me that I am not alone and neither are you!

What does Sharing Success Really Mean?

What does Sharing Success really mean to you and I?  You hear people talking about it all the time.  If you type Sharing Success into the Google Search engine…a plethora of titles, sites, and ads come up with advice on advertising, marketing, affiliate programs, …you name it, they’ve done it!

I’m really not sure what it means to everyone else, but I do know what it means to me.  Here as Sharing Marketing Success and Sharing Success; it is my goal to share what I’ve learned in such a way that I can create success, not only for myself, but for everyone that  joins me in pursuit of their dreams.

If that means adding to your team when someone else joins the group, then that’s part of what needs to happen.  To be sure, you will know everything that I know; we will work together in every possible way to grow and create our success.   There is, however, a catch.

Communication is the key to our mutual success and growth.  We need to know what’s working and what’s not, where will we market your product or business opportunity, what are your aspirations, and what kind of a budget do we need to work with. 

There’s so many ways for us to touch bases now-a-days.  Social Media, Email, Skype, Telephone….the list goes on and on…

We all have a part to play.  I’ll do mine and you’ll do yours.  You’ll  implement what is shared, voice your results, read, learn, and read more.  You’ll follow along with me as we walk beside some of the true leaders in the business, striving to make our business a success and our dreams come true.

Speaking of some of the “true leaders”….

I recently read the Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann.  If you haven’t read it, I truly recommend it to you.   

Here’s a taste of what you’re in for:

That quote is not meant to be discouraging…it’s meant and stated to be honest. Especially in this economic environment, nothing is secure.

If you have faith, you can rest assured that you are not alone. It’s important to remember that we’ve been given the ability to, not only, work and provide, but to thrive. With Him all things are possible.

Here are three reasons why business ownership is on the rise:

1) Job Security…with frequent lay offs and downsizing; the days of long term careers, at the same establishment, are all but over. Even the government jobs lack the security they once held for us. Because of this, more and more people are seeking their own business venture.

2) Technology…with the advent of the internet and computer technology we are no longer restricted to local and geographical markets. We are now able to take our opportunities global…we now live in the era of the mobile office. No longer restricted to the confines of a cube.

3) Control One’s Future…tired of living paycheck to paycheck, more and more entrepreneurs are starting their own business. They no longer want to rest in the insecurity that large corporations have to offer.

Don’t be left in the fray of today’s economy. There’s no reason why you can’t take back your destiny. We have the ability, means, and vehicle to succeed in todays market!

Let’s work together, as a team, and make this happen. Catch the dream!

We Finally Made it to Number Ten on the List

Well, we’re at the final entry in this particular series. Hopefully, it has given you a little insight and inspired you and your marketing plan.

Number Ten on the list is…Company Management Experience.

Well, in a way this makes sense, doesn’t it? Your prospect really doesn’t care about the management behind the business. If this is something you’re leading with; may I suggest that you change that marketing tactic?

Why, because compared to:

Knowing YOU,

Trusting YOU, and

Making sure the YOU can help them be successful

It’s just not that important.

Your prospect doesn’t want to hear about how great everyone else has done. But they would like to hear how you experienced success, or how your upline has made this work for them in such a way that they can see how it’s done and duplicate it.

That’s it in a nutshell.

What’s important is that you think like your target market when you’re presenting your program. You need to know what they are looking for and speak to that. If you don’t, your business won’t grow and you’ll be struggling to make ends meet.

May I ask you a question? If I were looking for an opportunity, what is it about you that would make me feel comfortable enough to sign the dotted line? That’s what you need to convey to your constiuents.

Network Marketing and Numbers Eight and Nine on the List

Thank you for following my series. We’re taking a look at what our prospects, potential partners, and future team members are looking at when they check out our opportunity.

It’s important to know what they are looking at and how important it is to them, so that we can share the right information in such a way that they can make informed decisions about the business opportunity. With that said; let’s take a look at Number Eight on the list. Do you have any guesses? What do you think the poll revealed? Number Eight on the list is…Company Image.

Although its Number Eight on the list, our prospects still care…they just don’t care as much as we might think. It appears that the “bells and whistles” are fairly unimportant, but they do want a strong, legitimate, and solvent opportunity. Often times we have a tendancy to lead with our business opportunity, sharing from the business point of view, when our customer or prospect cares very little about this. So, the point is, although it is part of the opportunity…it should not be the lead in.

Let’s take a look at Number Nine on the list. Our contacts want to know if a Sales Kit is Provided. Way down on the list, they need to know what marketing tools are available to help them with their business presentation. How much does it cost, is it included? Many opportunities are shared completely backwards. The presenter starts with the company, the the sales kit, then…product, and the bottom line is…they want to know if you can help them be successful and how are they going to make this happen for them, not the Company Image and Kits.

It’s funny how often people will begin from the bottom up, when in reality the prospect wants to know…YOU.

Network Marketing and Numbers Six and Seven on the List

Hey everyone! I trust you had a wonderful 4th of July! Can you believe it’s already the 6th? I can hardly believe it, the older I get the faster the time goes.

Oh well, I digress…let’s get back to the series.

Today we are going to talk about the sixth and seventh pieces of criteria that our prospects are looking for when they seek a business opportunity, either with Directs Sales, MLM, or other.

Believe it or not, number six on the list is…Being First in the Area…I wouldn’t have thought this, especially with the era of technology and the internet, but hey…it is important when you’re building your business locally. They want to see that there’s potential for growth and that they can get a fairly large piece of the pie. That’s a good sign, isn’t it? Their success is our success! It’s important that that is a motivator!

So what’s number seven on the list….Our future business partners are concerned with our Company Literature. It’s important to note that although this is vital for growth and presentation; that’s not what’s going to win your people over to you and your opportunity. Remember what we talked about earlier?

It’s about YOU!

You, are the most important reason people decide to get on the bus and take the ride. You inspire by building a relationship and motivating through teamwork, trust, and integrity.

One more thought on this particular subject…it takes time to build a rapport and relationship. You cannot and should not rush this process.
